The Ruth Titilayo Educational Foundation (RTEF) has opened applications for its 2026 Technical & Vocational Scholarship Programme, designed to support young Nigerians pursuing skill-based education in accredited vocational and technical institutions. This initiative targets individuals committed to mastering trades and practical disciplines that contribute directly to economic development and self-reliance.

Who Can Apply?

The scholarship is open to candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be Nigerian citizens, aged 16 to 30 years at the time of application.
  • Must be enrolled in or seeking admission into an accredited technical or vocational training centre in Nigeria.
  • Must demonstrate genuine interest and aptitude in a chosen trade or craft.
  • Must show evidence of financial need and a commitment to completing the training programme.

Eligible fields include but are not limited to: electrical installation, plumbing, carpentry, welding, tailoring, catering, hairdressing, ICT, automotive repair, and other certified vocational disciplines.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Training fee support of up to ₦100,000 per beneficiary.
  • Tool or equipment grant of up to ₦30,000, depending on the trade.
  • Access to mentorship and entrepreneurship workshops.
  • Opportunities for internship placement with partner organizations or skilled professionals.

The scholarship is non-renewable and intended to cover the duration of the selected vocational programme, typically ranging from 3 months to 18 months.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

  • A statement of interest (maximum 400 words) explaining their chosen trade and career goals.
  • Proof of admission or registration at a recognized vocational or technical centre.
  • Two reference letters from community leaders, instructors, or employers.
  • Proof of age (birth certificate, national ID, or voter’s card).
  • Passport photograph and any relevant certificates or training records.

All documents must be submitted in PDF format and clearly labeled with the applicant’s full name.

  • Shortlisting: November 20–25, 2025
