About the Ron Brown Scholar Program
The Ron Brown Scholar Program (RBSP) is one of the most prestigious scholarship programs in the United States, established in 1996 to honor the legacy of Ronald H. Brown, the first African American U.S. Secretary of Commerce. The program seeks to identify and support African American high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service.
Each year, 20 students are selected to join the Ron Brown Scholar family. In addition to financial support, scholars gain access to a lifelong network of mentors, alumni, and opportunities across industries including law, medicine, public policy, business, and the arts.
