The Ruth Titilayo Educational Foundation (RTEF) has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Postgraduate Scholarship Programme, aimed at supporting high-achieving Nigerian graduates pursuing advanced degrees. This scholarship is designed to ease the financial burden of postgraduate education while promoting academic excellence, leadership, and community impact.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Ruth Titilayo Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be a Nigerian citizen enrolled or admitted into a recognized postgraduate programme (Master’s or PhD) at a public university in Nigeria or abroad.
- Hold a minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2:1) in their undergraduate degree.
- Be under the age of 35 at the time of application.
- Demonstrate financial need, academic distinction, and a clear vision for how their research or field of study will contribute to national development.
- Applicants pursuing degrees in education, public health, engineering, law, agriculture, and social sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful candidates will receive:
- Tuition support of up to ₦500,000 per academic year for Nigerian institutions or up to $5,000 for international programmes.
- Research grant of ₦100,000 for thesis or dissertation-related expenses.
- Mentorship and networking opportunities with professionals and alumni of the foundation.
- Access to leadership development workshops and career support.
The scholarship may be renewed annually based on academic performance and continued eligibility.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
- A statement of purpose (maximum 750 words) detailing academic goals, research interests, and career aspirations.
- Undergraduate transcript and proof of postgraduate admission (or evidence of application).
- Two reference letters from academic supervisors or professional mentors.
